First steps

For some reason writing here gives me more agita than ever I've gotten from public speaking, acting, writing, or almost any other activity---and that includes skiing and whitewater canoeing (not that I've done any of that in truly dangerous situations).
There is something that makes one feel tremendously vulnerable---even tremulous, for goodness sake.
It's the thought and possibility of exposure to so many eyes, a significant number of which are likely to be unsympathetic.
Well, this is just the first shot.
Soon, I imagine, there will be deep discussions of literature, those stupid Mets, online journalism, poor Britney, whatever.
Meanwhile, this will just have to do.
